Ooh we have painting and drawings and G can draw round her hand now yippee

Its no effigy of Jesus but…

Ok so as I was struggling to put G to bed last night I was looking around at the marks on the walls from scraping off the wallpaper and what did I see only an effigy of Edward from Twilight….

Well thats how it looked to me. You can decide for yourselves…

A Selection of Twilight Images…

Ok so as you know I’ve been hopelessly lazy again (online that is) offline I’ve spent most of my time stripping the wallpaper off the kids room…its ALMOST done now just a little corner and a strip at the top. But blimey its been a task and a half especially with G trying to climb the ladders every 3 seconds.
There’s been tears and tantrums and that was just me hehehe.
But I put most of my laziness down to picking up Vampires:the Masquerade again. Well I’m stuck on it again so I thought I’d be a little more productive tonight.
But before I post the images I must state that I didn’t do a lot of manipulating to the images. Twilight was so bad to play on my pc, yep I have a dismal graphics card. But I did sit through it all even though it sent my eyes funny and I began to wonder if anyone had slipped me some drugs. But I guess in a roundabout way I’ve finally watched it. But I will have to watch it again on the main DVD player to actually appreciate the cinematography.
So now to the pics….

Playing Around With Gimp

Well as you may or may not know, I have been dabbling with the idea of switching from Windows to Linux and as yet still haven’t done it.

But I have downloaded the Gimp software to try out and I really like it, not that I figured out how to do a lot yet. Took me an age to find how to change the colour.

Did I mention that I have had a go onPhotoshop before, a long time ago, and mainly use paint.net for almost all the digital artwork I do.

Anyway heres the images of the family I did on Gimp. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday G!!!

Well its official she’s now three years old. (well it is if its the 6th and your reading this!)
So I wanted to write something profound about where the time has gone and all the milestones she has already achieved and the ones yet to come. But I haven’t.

Happy Birthday G!!

Craft Ideas For Old Tee’s

OK so in the current climate everyone’s recycling, reusing and saving money. Well its a great idea to have been doing it anyway.
And here’s a great way to reuse those old tee’s that you still love but are getting a little worse for wear.

Its a cute little tote bag. Its easy and very quick to make and looks cute on your arm.
So how do I make it you ask…
1. Take the T-shirt and lay it on a flat surface and if there’s a band picture/logo that gives you your template.
2. Cut through both sides (front and back) of the T-shirt simultaneously, it doesn’t matter if its a little uneven. You could do square, or even get a little adventurous and do a circle or even maybe a star shape. But I’m getting ahead of myself here.
3. Before you throw out the left over you will want to cut off the waist band plus a few centimetres from the stitching already there for the straps. And cut off the side stitching to make 2 pieces.
4. OK so now you have your front and back pieces. Turn them so the outside is on the inside. Yeah you know what I mean. and pin the bottom and the 2 sides. No sew them up. You can either do it by hand or with a sewing machine. I did it by hand because I didn’t own a machine.
5. Now fold over the top edges to give your hem for the opening and tack each side down making sure its even.
6. Now comes a fiddly part. For the straps you will want to turn the waist bands inside out, now unless you have super thin fingers or are quite handy with a knitting needle it takes some time. The bonus is once you’ve pulled it all through they’re ready to go.
7. Tack down both straps. one for each side. And then sew around the hem including the straps and then go back and sew a square around each four sides of where the strap is attached to the bag. To give them extra strength.
8. Turn it right side out and enjoy…

Strange how the mind works

So I’m dropping my cards on entrecard….for a change hehe and I thought to myself I wonder who painted that painting I saw in a gallery in Madrid about 10 years ago…I know it was the gallery that had a Goya show on and it was March time we went, but I couldn’t find any references to it in the gift shop and I forgot to write the artist name down one I added the pic to my sketchbook.
Its a Crucifixion painting done in a realism style so I want to say its renaissance but I’m as useless with the “ART TAGS” as I am with makes of car. Anyway its a pretty dark background to the painting but in one corner theres a head and shoulders shot of a man with the ruffles round his neck.
Any one who can help? If I don’t find it first!

OK so I’ve narrowed it down to the Museo Nacional de Prado woohoo…So close I can almost see it…

Update on Etsy…

Ok so if you didn’t already know all my paintings and ACEO’s are half price, I was going to keep it like that until the end of May but since the paintings are due to expire mid June, I’m leaving them on sale until then. And once they expire I am removing them from the listing and going to paint over them…
so if you see one you like you better get in there soon as they won’t be around for much longer…

Well we were a little crafty today and made G a necklace and some bracelets, well she did all the work I just held the thread steady for her feeding it through. she also took some photo’s she’s still not got the hang of looking at the image on the screen. Hence the photo of her eye…
